It started with a cat who wouldn't go in the carrier.
Tom was a nineteen-pound Maine Coon who had decided, firmly, that the carrier meant nothing good was about to happen. His mats were getting worse. Every salon visit turned into an ordeal that started an hour before we left the house.
So the grooming came to him instead. He was bathed and combed out in his own driveway, and he walked back inside completely unbothered. That was the whole lesson: most of what makes grooming traumatic for a cat happens before the groom begins.
Tom Cat Grooming exists to remove that part. We took the salon out of the equation, kept everything that actually matters — proper equipment, feline-specific training, unhurried time — and put it in a van that parks at your door.

Four rules we don't bend
These aren’t marketing lines. They’re the actual decisions we make when a groom gets difficult.
Consent, not restraint
If a cat says no, that’s information, not an obstacle. We adjust, take a break, or book a second short visit. Nobody gets held down.
Quiet by design
Low-noise clippers, a variable-speed dryer, no radio, no other animals. The van is built to be the least alarming room your cat has been in all week.
Honest about the coat
If a lion cut is kinder than another de-matting session, we’ll say so. If your cat doesn’t need a full groom yet, we’ll tell you that too.
The same face each time
You get the same groomer at every visit. Familiarity does more for a nervous cat than any technique we could name.

It is not a converted camper with a sink in it. Every surface, sound and temperature inside has been chosen for how a cat experiences it.
Fully self-contained — we need nothing from your home but the cat.
Its own hot water
A 40-gallon heated tank and a soft-flow sprayer. We never need your bathroom or your hose.
Filtered, tempered air
HEPA filtration and climate control, held at a steady 72°F so nothing about the space feels alarming.
A dryer cats tolerate
Variable-speed and low-decibel, run at the gentlest setting that will actually dry a coat.
Blades kept cat-sharp
Cat skin is roughly half the thickness of a dog’s. Blades are cleaned, oiled and rotated between every single visit.
The same face, every visit
You are not assigned whoever is free that week. One groomer learns your cat and keeps them.
